Check or adjust the assumptions

Future first-round holdings are checked against the published future-picks table. Ladder bands follow the current 2026 simulator setup. Existing deficits default to zero and must be adjusted if already committed. This checks funding only: residual selections, list-space eligibility and later changes to the order are not simulated.

Pick 8 carries 1,443 points. Picks 14 and 26 carry 1,024 + 561 = 1,585.

The two-pick package has 142 more points. Compare the prospects available at those selections before deciding which package you prefer.

How the 2026 bid estimate works

For bids 1–18, the top two ladder finishers pay 20% extra; third and fourth pay 10% extra. Clubs finishing 5–10 pay base points. Clubs finishing 11–18 receive a 10% discount through pick 36. Up to two current selections can pay for an early bid.

From pick 37, matching uses the club’s next selection. A deficit is capped at 412 points and requires a first-round pick in the following draft. Percentage costs round to the nearest whole point, consistent with the current simulator.

The estimate does not move the live draft board or calculate residual selections. Check the AFL’s rule announcement and the bidding walkthrough for the full context.
